So she’s in nursery at the moment, and next year she’ll be starting reception. You don’t have to send them next year but if so means they miss the reception stage and go straight to year 1 x

I'm a reception teacher, Oct 21 babies don't start reception until 2026 and we all need to apply for our reception classes and schools next September (2025)

@Shanice really.. the hv called and told me she’ll start next year as I need to apply for a ehcp and also her nursery when I spoke to them said that’s correct when I questioned it

I think it's because they will be 4 so early in the year it confuses people, they just hear 4 and go yep school, but no you don't need to worry about school just yet we have another year before we need to start worrying x

No it’s definitely Sept 2026 for us. Children born up to August 2021 will start next year but we get an extra year with our littles 🥰

Ah that’s brilliant then cos I was emotional and stressing that it was to early! Thank you I’ll have to get back to the hv and question it again and her nursery
