Serious question

When naming children do people think about the future ? Like when the little boy or girl grows up to be an adult with some outrageous name that doesn’t look good on a resume?? Y’all just naming children these names cuz they’re “cute” 🤔

Maybe people are hopeful the world will be full of respectful individuals when their child has to worry about resumes.

I just saw a post that someone said “phelanee” was an option for them? What’s respect got to do with naming your kid felony just a different spelling?

Do you think it was maybe a joke post? I see a lot of satire in the baby name groups. Either way, my point was it’s my personal hope that the future will be full of individuals who respect the very basic human identifier of a name. Whether it’s a government name or a chosen name; anyone you meet should be respectful enough to not judge you by or make fun of your name. And they should have enough respect to want to learn how to properly pronounce your name.

Yeah 100%.

Lol 'Phelanee McGee'

@Parker that’s a sweet thought, unfortunately the world is full of cruel and judgmental people.

@Allison hi are you not raising part of the future to the best of your ability ? I am (: that’s all I’m really worried about. I’m aware the world currently is full of awful people. I was saying the HOPE for the FUTURE is that there’d be less of em. This conversation is seeming disheartening in that regard tho.

@Parker preach 👏 best of luck on your motherhood journey

@Allison same to you! I truly was just saying any decent human being should be able to respect another’s name. & my hope is that in the future it’ll be the truth, and not just a hope. And my part in doing such a thing would be raising my children to be respectful of others, instead of policing name choices of others.
