Confused about OPKs

I'm really confused about OPKs. I got a positive OPK on CD13 AM, and a peak result on CD14 AM. By CD14 PM LH was dropping. I had EWCM up until around CD14 /15 ish. Is sex the evening of a first positive result and the morning of a peak result enough, or too late? Is that the right timing? When would ovulation have occurred? Is any of this even necessary 🤔

Ovulation usually happens between 24-48 hours after a peak test. Ewcm sticking around for a few days after positive opk is normal. Sperm can live an average of 5 days inside the uterus so it sounds like you’ve given yourself a good chance with timings 👍

Yes those are good timings. Also helps if you just BD every other day from when your period finishes to build up a supply of sperm waiting for when you ovulate.

Thank you!

Hi this month I’ve started to do LH testing I’m not sure if I’m doing the testing correctly as sometimes LH is higher in the morning and then lower in the evening. I’m not sure it it’s normal to fluctuate throughout the day.

Do I have to use first wee morning urine or do I have to hold my wee after first morning one for certain time?

@Brooke hmmm I think a small amount of fluctuation throughout the month is normal. Are you getting positives during the month (test line the same or darker than control)?

So I haven’t got a very dark one just yet but I have forgot to test the past 4 days so I don’t know pre mom has said the predicted peak date isn’t till next weekend. But I’m gonna start testing again tomorrow just the days got busy with work ect

Sounds totally normal then! I get a very faint positive throughout the month that fluctuates a little bit in strength. Then 24 hours ish of positive. The peak can be very short though so around expected peak it's helpful to do first morning wee and then another in the afternoon to make sure you catch the peak
