I’ve started working on holiday projects- mostly hats and other wearable accessories. I’m focusing on stuff people can buy as stocking stuffers. I’d do stuffies but it seems like everyone sells those and it’s an over saturated market. Oh and I’m probably going to crochet a handful of baby blankets/granny square projects. Those always sell well.

The best advise I can offer you is to think about how long it takes you to make that item. Personally those are cute but babies don’t need shoes so it’s not a big market. Do some research. Gage some projects, see how easy they are and how long they take. Search on Etsy and find what’s selling in that category for how much and what the competition is. The difficulty with crochet is it can be time consuming but people aren’t willing to pay for your time so it ends up not being very profitable. Once you find what you want to make figure out the amount you need for one and cost out your materials For one unit. Like for example I sewed kitchen aid bowl covers I sold shipped at $13 with shipping and they took me about 15 minutes to make one. After shipping and material costs I was making $7 a cover profit. So I’m making 4 an hour for $7 a unit that’s $24 an hour.

I'd start with what would you personally buy from someone at an event like that? For me I am more likely to buy useful items or kid safe items. I've seen a ton of adorable amigurumi, but they have beads or buttons that make them unsafe for young kids and with a baby in the house I'm not gonna buy that.

I saw on Pinterest they make very cute hat in bunny ear and bear
