I love the name Peter but I don't like Pete as a nickname and my partners mates surname is Peter. I suggested Parker (like spiderman) and it was a contender as an alternative for a bit

Could you honor him by naming your child after his birth month, birthplace, favorite color, etc? I gave my daughter the middle name August to honor my mom and brother who were born in August even though I gave birth in January. There are many ways to honor someone with your babyās name

Iām wanting to name my child after my grandad Peter sadly he passed away not long before we found out we were expecting! Iāve searched loads of different names weāre sticking with Peter as a middle name as weāre expecting a boy. First names were not associating with Peter but I got - Flint - Peter means stone/rock and flint is a type of rock (I actually like this name but my partner is not a fan!) - Mason meaning one who works with stone. - Stanley - also has similar meaning of Stone but itās my 1st sons middle name already after my grandads dad! For a girl I had no idea we were going to give them the middle name of my mum as itās my grandad Peter only daughter so he must of loved the name. Couldāve used Petra or Petrina but wasnāt keen. So very glad baby is a boy āŗļø
I have a friend called Peter whose given name is actually Petros. I also heard the name Petrie this week which is unique.
Pietro & Petra are the only two I can think of that are like directly related & similar to pete/ peter in my head (both old Greek variants of pete/peter)
