He’s here ! My August baby is a July baby!

After a very long induction ( at 38wk+6) that nearly ended up being a emergency c- section ( I’m so grateful for the team around me that listened to what I wanted and my other half advocating for me) Baby Elis arrived via ventouse assisted vaginal birth at 7.20pm on 26th July weighing a whooping 8lb 1oz. No tears, no cuts. We are all besotted! ❤️ Any questions, feel free to ask x

Happy for you and your little one! Congratulations! At what time do they decide to use either ventoses or forceps ? Can we decide this ?

Congratulations 💙Do you mind me asking why they chose to induce you early? I've been told I'm on track to have a very big baby and my worry is that they will suggest this but it's not something I want. With my first, I ended up in theatre l, nearly section myself but then had a forcep and episiotomy delivery so I just don't want the same things happening again, not that I can preempt or avoid 🙈🙈

@Matilde just jumping on with your question. I think they'll suggest it when they need to intervene. My little girl was stuck. She was trying to come out with her head back and she was also back to back. With this her heart rate started to drop so that's when they suggested it as an option. I'm not sure it's on a list of things you can choose in your birthing plan but I could be wrong. I think it's just down to the situation on the day xx

Aww congratulations!

Do you mind expanding on your story when you have time? I’m due an induction and will accept it but also want to ensure I’m heard and listened to in between progressing to the next stage of induction because there’s some aspects that I’d rather avoid if possible, such as the hormone drip! X

@Lois I’ve DM you x
