Has anyone else been told they were RH negative?

I’m almost 13 weeks and my doctor just called and told me I was RH negative but didn’t seem very concerned. Just said that if I were to notice any bleeding to immediately go in and get checked and I’d have to have a shot. Is this something I should be concerned about? Of course I hopped on google and freaked myself out. They didn’t seem concerned but google definitely makes it concerning.

Is it your first pregnancy? You need a shot obviously, i'm rh nega too, and i've got a shot too

I think you should ask him to give you one

@Vivien yes my first! I read on google that I would need the shot anyways but then when they called they never mentioned that just that I would if I noticed any bleeding.

I think you might ask him, or a 2nd opinion from different doctor! As I know even in the first pregnancy they give this shot, so the immune system doesn't kick it out basically from your body. But do not panic, it's not something immediately gonna happen, usually at the latest pregnancies. But i'm not sure when. Please ask your doctor and you should ask a second opinion too, even if it's just a free call!! Wish you the best and don't worry! Now it's all fine :)

I am o negative and my partner is be positive so I had to get the shot. If your partner is a negative blood type they may not have you get the shot unless you have bleeding. If your partner is positive blood type then you should definitely get the shot. My daughter was born with o positive blood so it was a good thing I got the shot.

I found out with my first pregnancy that I was RH negative and with the first pregnancy there is nothing to worry about. I was told that since I was already past the first trimester that I should only worry if I fell or hurt my stomach in any way and noticed bleeding. You will have to get a rhogam shot at I think 20 weeks. I'm going to be truthful with you. It's a very painful shot but it's needed. When I first found out I was worried too but it didn't really make my pregnancy any different then any other. You will be fine I promise.

I got a shot during pregnancy and got my second shot after baby was delivered because my baby had different blood type than me. I was just told that my body would fight my daughter’s blood and could cause problems but getting the shot would stop that. I got 2 rounds of the Rhogam just because she did have a different blood type than me and I bled a lot during birth. I got the first round about half way through the pregnancy and then after birth

I am RH negative, my baby is RH positive, absolutely no worries. You’ll have some injections during pregnancy, you’ll have some injections after the baby is born :)

You will get a shot called RhoGAM at 28 weeks, after baby is born they will test the baby’s blood to determine blood type if the baby is positive you will receive a second dose to protect yourself from any blood mixing between you & baby. If baby is negative like you, you won’t receive a second dose.

I’m rh neg! It’s basically fine aslong as you get the shot and get any bleeding checked! It’s actually a really common thing :)

I’ve also had the shot at 30 weeks and all was okay it’s no different to a regular jab literally takes 2 seconds

Rh neg itself isn’t a problem or a disease it’s literally just a blood type category you’ve been rh negative your whole life so don’t panic

Don’t be concerned Im also rh negative and if you notice any bleeding they just give you a shot to make sure you and baby remain heathy :) I had one when I was 8 weeks due to a subchronial? (I forgot the exact name lol) hemorrhage and then another at 28 weeks just as a routine thing during one of my Checkups and then another one after baby is born :) it’s just to make sure your body doesn’t try to fight of antibodies produced by the babies blood if they are rh positive but don’t worry it’s nothing scary like had already been said above it’s very common :)
