Copper coil after c section

I’ve had two c sections and wanted to get the coil however when a Dr tried she said because I haven’t given birth vaginally my cervix isn’t open and she couldn’t insert it, has anyone else ever had this problem??

That’s… really weird. Because you can have it inserted even if you’ve never been pregnant before meaning obviously your cervix isn’t open. I would find another doctor

I agree with Allie, I had an IUD put in when I was about 17 or so and I had never given birth and it was inserted just fine. I also had one inserted after my C S and had no issues with insertion. Definitely find a new Dr.

I also agree with Allie, I’d find another doctor or at least get a second opinion. I know Mirena is a little different but still goes through the cervix, I just had mine placed and I’ve had 2 c-sections with no vaginal delivery or even dilation during pregnancy.

I've never given birth vaginally and I had the coil inserted when I gave birth to my 3rd 5 weeks ago?..
