I always do breakfast first, get him up, change nappy and make breakfast straight away, he won’t have a bottle until before his nap, he used to not eat his breakfast very well but doing it before bottle has definitely helped! Xxx
I was also wondering whether to switch it round and do breakfast before bottle, but when he goes to nursery in September he will get there for 8am and I think they will serve breakfast at 8:30ish, so I don't want to get him used to having breakfast straight away and then have to hold him off until he gets to nursery. He's always hungry as soon as he wakes. I don't think just a snack first thing would hold him off for an hour or 2 either, so I'm thinking that I might have to continue with a small bottle for now 🤷♀️
We do breakfast first then a bottle an hour later. She then has a 2nd breakfast at nursery! She does wake up early though x
So this morning we did breakfast and milk in a sippy cup and she just screamed. Doesn't want it. You'd think we were feeding poison 🤣 going to give it another half an hour / hour and offer again x
I still give the bottle first and breakfast about an hour later. She's an early riser e.g. around 6ish and she'd normally have breakfast at nursery around 8 or so and usually eats it all. I stopped her other bottles in the day and tried to offer milk in a cup or whatever instead and she absolutely will not drink it
@Hollie Sutcliffe my daughter does the same, even though she happily drinks water from a sippy cup. We've got a while to fully get them off the bottle so I'm going to keep the bottle for the morning and night and if I offer milk at any other time try different types of cup until she accepts one
Yeah I've offered again and she's having absolutely none of it. Just screaming the place down. So we've had no milk or breakfast now 😭 disaster of a morning x
Nursery said they offered her an open cup of milk at snack time yesterday and she had it! Just means she's getting more on top of her 3 bottles, but guess it's making her try it x
@Robyn how does she sleep at night? We also give a bottle to sleep for both naps and night. The sleep consultant today said (we got one because of multiple Night wakes and feeds) that there’s the milk association and bed time. He doesn’t know how to sleep without milk. So curious about yours
We've just back off holiday and we found she was going to sleep with no milk with no problems but now we're back it's been abit of a shit show 🤣 since we've switched to cows milk she doesn't seem to be sleeping through the night I don't know if it's because of that or her teeth!
I usually give my little girl breakfast first and then give her a bottle later on with her nap and then give her one at bedtime too
