I was pretty straight up telling my sonographer that I was a bit anxious because it just feels like SO long between scans, and I’ve not been feeling regular movement. She was really reassuring and talked us through everything. It’s worth repeating that movements aren’t regular at this stage, and the more you look for them the harder they are to feel (in my experience!). I was also super worried after reading so many notes on here saying they were feeling movements from early on x
I felt really anxious before my 20 week scan (which was yesterday) I think maybe the stress caused them to calm down a bit because I felt exactly the same! I’d started feeling them wriggling and the whole day before I felt barely anything, I was poking him all day because I was so on edge. The scan went well and he was definitely moving lots on the screen. Then today the movement has been non stop. I’m sure everything will be okay, try to let yourself be excited too ❤️
Awww I feel the same! My scan is on Monday and just been overthinking it all recently! I think like the others said tho as you are wanting to feel the movements it makes it more obvious when you don't! They will see still be cooking away nicely, just be reassuring seeing them on the screen again!
I was exactly the same. I felt tapping movements and then nothing for over a week which my midwife assured me was normal at such an early stage. It’s normal to feel anxious and if you tell the sonographer they will be so understanding. Sending love xx
I’m exactly the same as you. My 20 week scan is on Monday, but since my 12 week scan I’ve paid for 2 private ones (1 to find out the gender, and 1 because I was just feeling a bit anxious). Turns out, I have an anterior placenta (which means the placenta is at the front and you feel much less). It doesn’t affect the baby or the pregnancy, but it is quite a common thing x
Thanks everyone, the scan went really well, I’ve felt movement since too but I do have an anterior placenta! Explains a lot, feeling much more relieved this evening xx
You aren't at the point of feeling consistent movements, the baby still has alot of room in there to play. Movements become consistent when they are filling the space up! Chances of something being wrong at this point are suuuuper low, it's normal to be worried and I'm sure mentioning it to the sonographer won't be a problem!
