hormonal acne

i know this isn’t completely pregnancy/mum related but i’d really appreciate hearing any advice on dealing with hormonal acne!! I have dealt with acne since i was around 15 so it’s nothing new to me. However, when I became pregnant my skin completely cleared up, the clearest it has been in nearly 10 years, hardly a spot and no black heads, clear pores! It made me feel extremely good about myself, as it has always really affected my confidence. Then after a few months post partum, i’m assuming because my hormones started going back to normal and my periods came back, my skin went back to its old ways. I am very aware that this photo isn’t THAT bad, trust me i’ve had much worse! But these flare ups around my chin linger for months and months, I start getting rid of it and then another cluster of spots appear. It’s sore and very red. It’s just frustrating! I use la roche posay face wash, the ordinary SA serum at night and niacinamide in morning and then cerave lotion, that’s it. I get scared to over complicate my routine so i keep it simple. I REALLY would appreciate any advice on how to break this cycle, i’m assuming this is hormonal related because of it being on my chin, it changing during drastic hormone changes like pregnancy to postpartum and flaring up at periods. Any products, dietary changes, lifestyle habits etc etc, ANYTHING! Thank you :)

Are you currently breastfeeding or planning to get pregnant soon? If not talk to a doctor about spironolactone. It’s literally the only thing that helped my hormonal acne

@Ansley Thank you! I am breastfeeding though :/ but could be something I try when I stop!
