Make up

How did everyone get their make up routines? I feel like I never when through that girly phase as a teenager and now I have no idea what or how to do my make up. I'm very pale but with really red rosy cheeks. I struggle to find make up that has full coverage for the red that I can blend in with my pale neck. I end up buying loads of products that aren't working for my skin and I can't find anyone on YouTube/ tiktok with the same complexion as me. I'm so self conscious of it and it's made worse by people thinking I'm embarrassed all the time but I have to say my face is that red 100% of the time. Based in UK of recommending products etc.

I got a makeover at a makeup store and just kept doing that

I am in the US. As a kid/teen I never bothered with makeup! Not until I was in marching band did I start to want to learn. I learned majority of my skills on how to do my makeup in 2016 when influencers first started doing makeup tutorials! It sounds like you may have rosacea, so try to look up tutorials geared towards that! I know she's based on the US, but Nikki Tutorials on YouTube also has rosacea so she may be a good person to check. Also, I agree with going to a makeup store near you for a makeover and see if the artist will walk you through what products they use on you and best products for your skin tone and complexion! I know the UK probably has different makeup trends than here in the US, but it could be a start 🥰🥰

I had the same issue, except I'm extremely dark. It was really hard, so I gave up on YT and just played with different brands and products. With that being said, Il Makiage is great. I don't know if you heard of this brand, but it's literally gold. I'm not sure if they are UK as well. Try and see. https://www.ilmakiage.com/

I wear very little makeup, because I don't know how to put it on well and tbh I can't be bothered. Low maintainance gal basically 😂 I have heard really good things about Boots though, just walk into one of the big branches and get one of the ladies who does consulting on make up. They can try different brands and things and advise.

I use to wear makeup daily as a teenager now after I had both my kids I don’t bother doing my hair or makeup cus I never have the time but I wish I did

Sounds like you have rosacea maybe. You could research on colour correcting concealers etc Boots/super drug and places like that sometimes have people who can do your makeup and help you choose the correct products for you x

Honestly, what I know I’ve learned from friends or TikTok or YouTube.

Could you try some color correction? Green is recommended to balance out red. Maybe try and find a primer that has some green in it before putting on your foundation? Or you can get a color correcting stick and dab it on.
