Second birthday

Hi I want to have a second birthday party for my baby but I’m conflicted. My family does not get along w my fiancés family and for good reason his family treats mine awful. I could tell you stories you wouldn’t believe. When I see my MIL and my FIL I cry for typically about 5 days after Simply from seeing them even if nothing goes wrong. Just from extreme anxiety. I’m pretty tough but what they have put me through is awful and I can’t not invite them my fiance won’t allow it he stands up for his parents and not me. I’m so upset I want a nice birthday for my boy but idk if it’s good for my mental health or my families honestly. Please give advice

Have two parties. Your kid will enjoy the extra cake. Feel free to skip the one with his family... 🥳

Agree with Bonny

@Bonny I wish I could but there’s no way my fiance would let me have a party and not invite his family 🤦🏻‍♀️

Let him go first and call it a party. Just say you're having your family over the next week. You don't have to call it a party celebration is a state of mind. Leave the decorations up all week and get a cake that morning. That'll do for this year. Think hard about whether you want to marry this man. This is going to come up over and over. He's not willing to protect you from his family's abuse and he's not going to protect your child either. Fixing that needs to be a condition of moving ahead with your marriage or it won't last. Things won't change until you start putting your foot down and saying no more.

@Bonny yes I’ve thought of this I’ve gone as far as talking to a lawyer about custody of my child if and When I leave. The things his family has done are unbelievable. Most women would not put up with what I’ve been through he’s also been abusive in the past I told him I was leaving about a month ago he convinced me to give him another chance it’s been good since but that’s a month of good for 10 years of mental physical and emotional and narcissistic abuse as well as Cheating ect. So I know I have a lot to think about
