Dummy/Soother/Pacifier

4 days ago I started to get rid of LOs dummy (cold turkey), he's really struggled but we persevered and his sleep has seemed to improve. However, I've done some more reading and found that the suckling reflex doesn't leave babies until they're 1-2 years old. Now I'm super conflicted on what to do! I've given the dummy back but fear I've confused him and made him upset for no reason, and that I've undone 4 days worth of hard work 😫 any advice???

If he’s doing ok without it then great on, especially if his sleep has improved 👏🏻 it’s easier to remove it now than later, my 2 year old still has one mostly for bed time but she’s gets very possessive over it if she has one during the day x

If he’s doing fine without then continue with that 🥰

I'm really thinking of removing our little girls after she's finished with the regression. She wakes up so often during the night because she drops it and can't always get it back in her mouth herself. I'm dreading the first few days of it to be honest but I read the attachment is much stronger after 6 months so would be easier to do now x

Thank you girls! Needed that reassurance that it'll be okay, day 5 starts today 😫😆

Good luck 🤗

We’ve stopped having a dummy at 4 months, and he’s absolutely fine without x
