Induction šŸ©·

Hi Iā€™m having an induction on Sunday due to my baby weighing bigger than what she should be. I am absolutely terrified because all Iā€™ve heard is horror stories & I suffer with really bad anxiety I am on medication for it - I donā€™t want my anxiety to trigger me even more šŸ˜¢ Is there any tips / tricks - absolutely anything to help with induction? Please donā€™t give me horror stories because I wonā€™t sleepšŸ™ˆ

I was induced with my first and whilst it didnā€™t go as I had planned it wasnā€™t a horror story and there is nothing to be terrified about. Appreciate the unknown can make it scary but go into it open minded, the main thing is you and baby being safe whichever way that goes, take all the pain relief you feel you need. The only thing Iā€™d say with induction is people say itā€™s more painful, itā€™s not, your body just doesnā€™t have hours or days to adjust by going into spontaneous labour as it happens quicker. So many women get induced on a daily basis. Youā€™ve got this and itā€™ll be all worth it when baby is in your arms šŸ„°

My sister was induced due to GD and concerns the baby would be big, she started contractions 1 hour after induction, was in labour for about 4 hours & her baby was a perfect 7.7lb ā¤ļø no complications at all

I listened to loads of positive birth stories on podcasts before having my first which was really helpful. And I avoided anything dramatic like One Born Every Minute because they only show the stuff that makes good tv. Good luck for Sunday xx

My first was a chunky 9lb4oz and the only pain relief I had was the water in the birth pool - trust that your body can birth your baby and youā€™re half way there x

I had my boy 5 days ago and I was induced because he was bigger and I can say it can be a long process but they don't all lead to horror stories mine was very positive xx
