Sleeping on front..

The last 2 nights I’ve woken up as I normally do to check the baby monitor to find our girl on her front. She’s sleeping soundly.. much more soundly than usual! I know this can be a preferred position for a lot of babies. She’s rolled front to back a couple of times but I don’t think it’s been often enough to say she’s a confident roller. She does have very strong neck and head control though so her head has been to the side. She’s not crying in this position and to be honest, I have no clue how long she’s been in the position for either! So far I’ve rolled her back over but she does get upset from being disturbed. Should I keep doing this until I think she’s a frequent and strong roller?

10 minutes later and I’ve watched her on the monitor roll back to her front, support herself on her arms and look around then get her head to the side and go back to sleep. I don’t know what to do 😫 if I roll her back then go to sleep myself she will do it again?!

Ok, 3 times I’ve rolled her back over and she goes back to front within minutes. She cries when I turn her. I really don’t know what to do..

As baby is able to roll to change her position, it is generally ok but the appropriate position is to sleep on her back. Mine also cries when I turn him, sometimes having pressure on belly helps with tummy/digestive discomfort so could be the reason especially if already weaning. Otherwise some babies like to sleep on tummy. Let baby go into deep sleep and then try to turn her gently where possible.

As long as you put them down in their cot on their back whatever position they put themselves in is fine. Both my toddler and 6mo are tummy sleepers! I wouldn’t move her especially if it’s disturbing her x

my little boy has decided to be a tummy sleeper, we put him down on his back, by the time i'm downstairs he's rolled onto his tummy x

Thanks all. Will leave her to it. I watched her multiple times and she had really good head control to move into a comfy and safe position.
