Congratulations!
@Terri im still hanging in there too!
@Elvira Brilliant news! Congratulations! Glad everything went smoothly. Hope you're feeling well 👌
@Fatou I really hope it's your time soon 🙏 💪
Hi Terri I'm 40 + 5 today and still no sign of baby yet
@Sakinah Hoping for some progress for you soon!
How are you holding up @Terri ?
@Sakinah how you are going?
@Sakinah Still no sign of a baby! I'm booked for an induction on Tuesday. I was hoping to avoid it but I'm thinking it might be best to help get me started at least! I think mentally I'm struggling with the not knowing. How are you?
@Terri best of luck! Hope it goes well for you!
Hi @Terri - I went into labour spontaneously without warning the day after my failed sweep on Wednesday night - baby boy arrived Thursday night 🥰 I was 41+2. It could definitely all still happen for you but to be honest I wasn’t induced and still had a painful fast labour and instrumental delivery so labour can go in any direction whether induced or not, if that helps at all with your decision. All worth it though to meet our babies 🥰
@Terri I hope it goes well for you! There's still a couple of days so I pray you get into spontaneous labour soon. Fingers crossed! I can relate with the struggle too.. i don't know at this stage what I should do and whether I should book an induction soon. Will be seeing my midwife this weds and I'll be 41 + 2 then.
@Elvira congratulations Elvira! My baby boy is also finally here and labour started from nowhere. Hope your first few days go okay
@Fatou to be honest ups and downs! Definitely have experienced more peaceful calm moments where I'm like let's trust in the babys time and focus on other wins in my pregnancy, and then the anxious thoughts can come creeping in about when will the baby come out and whether I should be worried.. I'm week 41 tomorrow and the concern I have is whether there are risks to the health of the baby the longer it is.

@Harriet Thank you for sharing your birth story! I'll be 41+5 by Tuesday and I think the anxiety about it going on even longer and the safety of my baby will outweigh the apprehension of the induction itself. I still have some hope that it could happen tomorrow but who knows?! I'm glad you and your baby are safe! Congratulations!
@Sakinah It is such a personal decision! As I get closer to my induction date, I feel more certain of what I should do. They are going to try to fit me in for another sweep tomorrow but currently have no appointments so I'm on a waiting list. We'll see!
Had a successful second sweep this morning! She said I've made good progress and am 2cm dilated, with a spongey, open cervix! It was closed last week. She said even if nothing comes of the sweep, it should make it easier for the hospital team to get things going tomorrow! I feel so much more positive 😌
@Terri that's good news Terri!! Hope it'll go well for you tomorrow:)
@Terri that’s great! Fingers crossed you don’t need the induction. 2 cm is exciting!
She said they might decide to just break my waters rather than give me the pessary, if nothing has happened naturally. I have quite a bit of pain now but no plug or waters yet. Can't work out whether it's just because I'm tender or whether they are mild contractions. They do seem to be coming and going, but there is general tenderness there too. Not sure!
Hope you've made some progress @Terri
My little boy Luca was born yesterday morning at 8.26am! Finally! The second sweep well and truly did the trick and I luckily avoided having to have the induction. Start to finish 10 hours in labour and he was born in the pool, just with gas and air. Exactly the birth I wanted! I wish you all the best of luck if you're still waiting! Stay strong 💪
This sounds lovely @Terri we shared a due date so I was thinking of you. I hope you and your boy are home asap ❤️
@Sarah Thank you! We came home the same day, which was great. Feeding has proven tricky and I'm not getting any sleep 🤣 However, he's just awesome. I'm very lucky! Hope you are OK!
@Terri we had latching challenges, so ended up back in hospital in Bristol Tues - Fri as she lost too much weight. But home now ❤️
@Sarah I've had some issues too. Was concerned he was becoming jaundiced. Think we have narrowly avoided it but he's got a check tomorrow so hopefully it's OK. I've decided to combi feed to ensure he's topped up and his nappies have improved massively. Glad you're home 😊
Hi Terri! I had my girl yesterday at 1am, after contractions started randomly and "only" took 5 hours to go from 2cm to her being here. It is true what they say that it can literally just happen in a matter of minutes. Best of luck 🤞
