My obstetrician recommended it to me today he said the hospital cases are so high it’s recommended to do it.
Yes it’s new.
You mean pregnant people can get it? I thought it was just the babies?
Apparently the antibodies are passed on to the baby through the mother. I dunno that’s what my doctor told me
Yes I know how the vaccine's work but I thought only kids of a certain age were eligible. Are we eligible too?
Yes we are. My obstetrician gave me the prescription it’s called Abrysvo said there’s been a ton of research done and it’s highly recommended now
No I wouldn't.
Yeah I’m not going to I spoke to my doctor about it he said not to do it
I want to get it but sadly can’t afford to as it’s not funded yet. The Abrysvo RSV vaccine was very recently approved and recommended for pregnant women between 28-36weeks pregnant to protect the baby. Available at some pharmacies & GPs but costs $350
I got it - no side effects except a slightly sore arm for a day. Was expensive though, approx $320!
I think you can consent to your baby having the rsv vaccine - in qld the baby not the mother have the vaccine
Since when is this a thing? Is it new? Great idea I say! My 4 yo son gets this virus a lot it’s terrible
