Lost

Hey y’all - my son turned 6 in March and I still am struggling to find myself prior to being a mom. I’ve changed a lot of course but I don’t know what my interests are. Any advice of how you found yourself again?

I'm working on that too! It's sure tough. It was suggested that i think of what I loved as a kid. That's to help find things you love to do. And then just try some out. I wrote a list of things I wanted to try. Also a values sheet. Look at a whole bunch of values and decide what are important to you now. I don't know, it's tough. Its easy to lose yourself in motherhood. You can do it 🩷

Thank you so much! I’m gonna try that and see what I come up with.

Hey @Chelsea 👋🏽🌺 It’s totally normal to feel like you’ve lost a bit of your old self after becoming a mom. Finding your interests again can be a journey, so don't be too hard on yourself. A good start might be to think back to what you enjoyed before becoming a mom or even trying out completely new activities that catch your interest. Whether it’s picking up a book, joining a fitness class, exploring art, or even gardening, start small and see what resonates with you. Also, carving out a little time for yourself, even if it's just a few minutes each day, can really help. It could be as simple as a walk alone, a coffee out, or a class where you can meet other adults. Sometimes, connecting with other moms and sharing experiences can spark interests you didn’t know you had. it’s perfectly okay to explore and find new passions at your own pace. You’ve got this! 🫧
