Has anyone went through this ?

Question, if anyone knows. I'm currently active duty enlisted and I already have a bachelors so I want to go OCS. If | get accepted, OCS is in another state than I'm currently living in. And then the tech school is at least another 6 months in another state. would I be able to defer payments for that long or pay less or am I just going to have to sell my house?

You could find a rental management company to help you rent it out. That's if you want to keep it. Or sell because deferral payments can sometimes show up on credit reports (depends on the mortgage company). Use the financial specialist at a Fleet or Soldier/Family Center and definitely ask questions.

Why would you defer payments? You would still be getting paid for all the training. You can just do a autopay.

@Beba my husband is also dual mil. So he has to stay in our current state and I would have to give up my BAH if I’m in barracks

@Madison

Same branch?

@Beba yes same branch. Our house costs both of our BAH together so I wouldn’t be able to afford it

Call your bank and have orders at hand. It is a chance you will be taking, but if they decide not to help you, then you will have to save up first until you have ur part of the BHA that covers for the ammount of month you will miss.
