New game recommendations?

So I've just finished my most recent obsession game and now have nothing to play and a very big black hole inside me😂 I'm into cosy, chill games and RPG type games. I love stuff like Animal Crossing, House Flipper, Sims, etc, and RPG stuff like the Witcher, Assassins Creed, GTA, open world stuff like that. I'm after something I can clock a lot of hours in, and preferably not gonna cost me an arm and a leg😂

Xbox PC or PlayStation? BTW, you play all the games I love. Need a bestie lol?

Have you tried Hogwarts Legacy?

@Alexandra I've got a PS5, a switch and a very old gaming laptop😂 @Karen I have, I did a Hufflepuff playthrough probably around a year ago, I'm wanting to do a Slytherin playthrough and be a little evil but don't know if I'm ready for it yet if that makes sense😂 I don't want to turn it on, play for 5 minutes and then end up with dejavu and get bored

Update: After searching through various game reviews for an hour I've decided to give Field's of Mistria a try! It looks eerily like Stardew Valley and I'm a sucker for a cute farming sim!💁🏼‍♀️

Neverwinter

I know you said something that would take a lot of hours but I have a shorter game recommendation; untitled goose. Super silly and fun puzzle like game

@Katie I'm replaying Dungeons 4, Ezio collection and I've a couple on the go on the laptop too. I play xbox, ps5 and pc :-) x

@Maria I love Untitled Goose!! I got it when it first came out after watching CallMeKevin play it and I couldn't put it down for ages😂

@Alexandra I loved the Ezio games! It's what got me into the franchise. I replayed them not long after my son was born. Odyssey is my favourite though, I wasn't sold on the new style after Origins but that definitely rescued it for me! I want to get an Xbox so bad but we've not even had the PS5 for a year and I'm on a console buying ban by the other half😂 he's promised to let me buy one before the new fable comes out though so at least that's a plus!😂

I don't know if you've played all of the assassins creed games but I'm currently playing assassin's creed, Valhalla which is an amazing game. I also enjoy Disney Dream light valley, that's a nice cozy game to play too x ☺️

@Sarah I've played it, I did enjoy it but it's not my favourite. I can't even put my finger on why it's not as I was so excited for it because it was set in England, like I even went around my own county and compared the accuracy😂 I've not played the newest one, mainly because I wasn't mad on Valhalla. I think it's on PS Plus so I'll give it a go at some point. I love DDV too but the pay to play/moonstone aspect just started to rub me the wrong way😂

Oh yeah I definitely agree, the moonstone aspect is ridiculous. I don't play it as often as I used to purely because of that reason. My favourite assassin's creed is the one set in London with the twins 😁

Hades.

My recent addiction is stardew Valley and Maneater

Elden Ring and Skyrim are amazing Im currently 2 hours in to Black Myth Wukong right now, so still figuring out mechanics and game play.

Nightingale was pretty fun on PC. It’s steampunk and involves some farming, crafting.

If you like open world, there’s nothing better than Red Dead Redemption II (story and online multiplayer). I have put more hours into that game than any other, and sometimes that just means hopping online with a friend and meeting at one of our favorite spots to fish and chat, or we wreak havoc and outlaw it up with missions, etc. I like it mostly because I can go for legit gaming or just relaxing and riding my horse around the beautiful world. I also love Death Stranding — on easy mode, it becomes almost meditative and the philosophical dimensions of the game really come through. Otherwise, I’m playing Mass Effect: Andromeda on my PS5 and PS Portal. I only just started, and I am finding it similar to Starfield (xbox), which I did not love, but we shall see.

A few of my recent favorites have been Horizon Forbidden West and Forespoken. A few others that I've enjoyed, but they're a bit older, are the (newest) Red Dead Redemption, and Far Cry Primal. They're all open world.

I will say that both Forbidden West and Forespoken were a little tough for me to get into at first but once you start to level up they get really good. Plus, if you like cat's, in Forespoken, there's a lot of magical cats that you make friends with along the way 😊

Try ark! You can play online or single player and basically it’s like you’re stranded on a desert island but there’s dinosaurs 😂 you build bases and level up for weapons and equipment etc and you can tame dinos too to ride and help harvest materials If your online you play against other survivors and they will try and kill and loot you but if playing solo you’re the only human on the map so just the big scary dinos to contend with Me and my partner became obsessed with playing it together while I was pregnant and now I play solo when I get chance haha There’s ark survival (original) or ark ascended- both are pretty much the same just better graphics in ascended and I think you can only play solo for ark survival unless it’s on the switch so depends what you prefer playing on

Have you tried Cult of The Lamb?

Warframe. Can do the whole game free, try not to be temped to pay for stuff just to speed things up. It's fun! You basically constantly cna change your characters called warframes, for different skill sets. I just did a quest line for this really pretty one I got parts for to build now, then I can play her but can switch to any others I have at any time if I think they're better suited for a different sort of quest. There's an overarching story but lots of different side quests, and different worlds you explore.

I was going to say Forespoken and Horizon but someone said both lol but also Days Gone was amazing if you haven’t played that yet

@Sarah oh my god yes! I always forget about the London one!! I loved being able to actually play as a girl!!

Thank you so much for the suggestions!! I've made a list on my phone of them all to check out for next time I meet my gaming lull!❤️

@Katie Valhalla wasn't my favorite either but I liked it more than Mirage. Mirage was such a short game and there were less things to explore. The best place to explore was the structure at the center of the round city and the marketplace but it was lacking in secret tombs and such, which is why I liked Origins and Odyssey the most.

@Katie Exactly my point, I'd always want to play as Evie and when it came to just taking over everything after the main missions. I was her for all of it 😂

@Kayla I loved the tombs and the hidden "truth" with the landmarked buildings. I tried the open world thing, but I just didn't like it for the AC franchise

@Alexandra I admittedly haven't played any of the AC games before Origins. I like open world though so I was sold. Me and my husband are opposites in that because he enjoyed the ones before Origins way more 🤣

@Kayla you should try black flag! It has the old mechanics but is still such a huge map with so much to do! Plus Edward Kenway is just a spot on protagonist

@Katie I've heard good things about Black Flag but every time I'm considering starting it, another game piques my interest, but I do feel like I need to give them a shot. It makes me feel like I can't claim to fully be an AC fan since I've only played the newer ones.

For Xbox Division 2 Borderlands 3 Shadow of War LEGO ANYTHING Skyrim Tiny Tina’s Wonderland Outer Worlds For Switch breath of the wild and TOTK

No man's sky if you haven't played yet is good

@Kayla you can still be a fan without playing the older games, don't be silly! It still has a lot of the old gameplay styles and it's not for everyone, it has the awful tailing missions where you have to stay within a certain radius of the target and oh my god, they make me want to rip my hair out😂 definitely give it a go when you have nothing to play though! Rogue is also good and has a good twist to it too! Only one I've not playing is Unity (I think that's what it's called) because it got awful reviews for being so glitchy and it just put me right off it😂

Ooblets! It is absolutely adorable

Fae Farm! Also in October 10th, Fantasy Life 2 is coming out. The first was one of my favorite cozy games. ❤️

@Bree I loved fae farm! It was all I played until I completed it😂
