I completely understand why people travel to see family or take family away with them. I'm happy to leave the old holidays behind and it's been so lovely having her with us but doesn't really feel much of a holiday 🤣 need a break after this break to recover xx
@Hollie Sutcliffe oh, I do get you though... holidays are actually exhausting 😅 Just think you will look back and be glad you have done it.
We’ve taken our little boy away (8 times haha oops) starting from 3 months. First long haul was in summer. It’s definitely getting harder as he gets older but we’ve found just relaxing and accepting there’s no real routine with meals etc helps massively. He doesn’t eat well on holiday and is unsettled at night time…. I guess it’s a new place so a bit overwhelming!
We took my little girl away a week before she turned one and have said since I think it would be easier with a baby younger than 6 months or a toddler a bit older who can walk and communicate better. She lived off of watermelon, chips and ice cream and the only way we stayed out later than 7.30pm was with an iPad. They also gave us a room without a bath despite booking one so she screamed every evening in the shower 😩. Despite this we will still probably do it all again next summer 🤣. We have just been on a uk caravan break which was much easier so maybe self catering in general is easier x
Ours was exactly the same! Absolutely lovely holiday overall, memories for life but omg the meal times were brutal😂 there was a lot of screen time, i didnt even care at that point
We've caved at lunchtime today and gave a screen. I just wanted one meal in peace and my God it was lovely hahahah 🤣 xxx
Ah bless you. We've been abroad 3 times now with our little one but always to visit my family. Going on a proper holiday in November and can't wait. Yeah, he was a bit disrupted when away but nothing that couldn't quickly be fixed. Good luck xx
