I have definitely used these pregnant, I didn’t realise that was on the packaging. I feel you, I’ve had 6 cold sores this pregnancy and I’m almost 22 weeks. My midwife said if I had a bad bout I can take the aciclovir tablets you can get prescribed. I use this and it is quite effective at healing them fast https://www.amazon.co.uk/Herpotherm-Cold-Sore-Treatment-Device/dp/B0CV3BM4B1
@Charlotte thank you, but as someone who is stupidly anxious about stuff, now the pharmacist has said speak to the dr, I’ll have to to feel safe about it 😢 so annoying. I’m going to ask about potentially getting a prescription though which might be better?
@Jen argh they’re so annoying aren’t they! 6 is a lot though, I thought 3 was bad enough for me! The heat thing is interesting, how much time would you say it cuts down on healing? It normally takes a month for mine to fully heal and disappear
If you catch it on the tingle only a really small one will come up or it just won’t and I find they are gone in a week. Even when I use it when there is one there they are usually gone within 7-10 days but they heal very fast and shrink. It’s been a bit of a game changer. As soon as I get run down or my lips are dry I get a cold sore, very annoying
I had the same issue! They're only hydrocolloid and non medicated - I couldn't see any reason not to use them. They just haven't specifically tested them.
Oh wow I'd never think you wouldn't be able to use these? I can't really see why not though 🤷🏻♀️ I've had a couple of cold sores and I've used cold sore cream... I never thought to check if that'd be ok 😬 oops
I used these and the cream during my pregnancy. I found getting run down would make them worse. I always kept some on hand so that if I did feel that burning/tingle/itch I could put some on straight away and it would stop it or it would only be small and heal quickly (like others have said above). I also found layering the cream with a balm of sorts (paw paw ointment was great), kept it from drying out a ton and made the healing process a lot easier, I would just wipe the excess off after a while and reapply - especially if I’m just at home. I hope you get the reassurance from your GP and it clears up for you in time. Congratulations on your wedding ❤️ I’m sure it’ll be special no matter what xx
I suffer with cold sores all the time. I’ve used the cream whilst pregnant. I have recently found out that the doctor can prescribe stronger treatment if needed. Maybe worth checking in with them. Tik tok hack is crushed up asprin too
Everyone is different but I would use it. It isn’t becuase it will harm the baby. It’s just because they haven’t done any research on it as they don’t test on pregnant woman.
