S*x during pregnancy

My last pregnancy ended in a stillbirth. I was 24 weeks and I felt movement until one might we did the deed. I didn’t feel anymore movements that night or for the next three days and when I went to checkup, they saw swelling around babies heart and brain from what looked like trauma?? I said I was playing basketball cause wasn’t going to say much. Anyways this time Im pregnant 28 weeks and Im so paranoid anytime we do the deed especially because we made it farther than our last pregnancy. I’d be devastated. Google says doing the deed is okay in pregnancy but like … what are you guys doing for safety measures?

@Fay but what are ways to be careful? Google says as ling as its not painful which it isn’t but just want to be safe

I'm so sorry that you experienced that 💔 I've only heard that it should be safe up until your water breaks. There was a period in my last pregnancy when the doctor advised us to not have sex because the placenta was laying right over the cervix. Luckily it moved and the doctor OK'd us to be intimate again after a few weeks. Other than abstaining when the doctor told us, we didn't do anything differently because I thought it was safe 😳

Both my MCs happened around the time we had sex. These were early losses, but the dates add up. Drs say it isn't the cause, but how do they truly know. So when I was pregnant with my daughter, we didn't do the deed until the first scan (except one night of weakness), and she's now 8 months old. I'm now expecting #2, and we waited for the 12-week scan, and all is well this time too. The only advice I can give is to go slow and maybe reduce how much you're intimate, but you need to be realistic as well. Xx

I’m so sorry you’ve had such a loss. I’ve never heard of sex causing stilbirths, I was told sex is safe up until your water breaks (that’s just an infection risk). So we’ve never taken precautions during pregnancy. As long as you aren’t having crazy wild (or painful) sex, your baby is very insulated in your womb and your cervix is closed so vaginal sex is not meant to have any correlation with baby’s safety xxx
