Glan Clwyd

Can anybody share their experience of giving birth at Glan Clwyd? I visited for a growth scan and left feeling more stressed about the big day. Parking was awful and the distance to the ward seemed excessive. My midwife said I'd need extenuating circumstances to give birth in Chester which is the same distance for me but the other side of the border

I gave birth in glan clywd in October 2022, the midwives were absolutely amazing even after losing a lot of blood whilst having my little one, they reassured me and made me feel really at ease, the parking isn't the best but if you go to the back of the hospital there is normally some parking which is close to the midwife unit, hope this helps, feel free to message me if you want any more info about how it was whilst I was in there x

Midwives are phenomenal and you are treated really well. Had an issue with s doctor there but everything else was spot on x

You ladies are the best ❤️ I don't know if it's just a fear of a clinical setting but if anything were to get complicated at home I'd never forgive myself. I'm booked in for another growth scan there in a few weeks. Hopefully a second visit will ease my mind 🤞

The actual scan area is quite scary and sitting in the waiting room as it's so busy usually but the wards to wait to give birth and birthing suites are fantastic. I can promise you'll be in safe hands

There is usually parking past the helicopter landing pad which is closer to the ward x
