It is so so normal I promise it will pass. Your hormones are literally all over the place and your body has been through something huge and then we are just expected to be normal whilst caring for a newborn, it’s A LOT! You can do it though and I’m sure your partner understands x
Your hormones also surge when your milk comes in and that can make you even more emotional/hormonal too. Allow yourself some grace mama, you just had a baby ❤️ If you find yourself getting frustrated, go take 5mins and get some fresh air, if you can have someone help out with the baby at your place for a few hrs maybe get some sleep and a shower, you know feel more like yourself. I know sleep deprivation makes me snap at my partner.
@Sharnee this too! This was the worst day of my life when this happened for me
It’s hormones!
@Abi I started crying hysterically in the backseat on the way home from hospital (3 days in) and my hubby was just looking so concerned from the front asking if I needed him to turn around which made me cry even more. Literally just super emotional and glad to be going home, with my baby, and that he was so beautiful 😭 I was thankful for the heads up from the nurse tbh
@Sharnee literally! It’s such a crazy time and the hormone drop is WILD. I had a catheter for a week after and I was so sad about it. When my milk came in I had my first poo since birth/epidural with stitches and catheter and it was honestly the worst experience of my life x
Yep, baby blues suck. It's your hormones crashing.
I was very much the same, midwife said it was because my hormones were changing once again
I’m crying right now typing this and I don’t even have a reason or explanation why. They say baby blues should last about 2 weeks. Mine is a week old too. 😫😫
@Setiya I think that can be dependent on each person individually, like if you already have a history of depression etc. I know lots of mums who were depressed for longer and plenty who were only this way for a few weeks, like you say. It is worth keeping an eye on so it can be managed properly and get the best support. I think mine went on for the first 6 months? 🤔 some days were better than others, of course, though. I wasn't always crying xx
@Emily baby blues last for two weeks, after that it becomes ppd. I had ppd with my first daughter, all up until she turned one. That’s why they say if it goes longer than two weeks which is how long it should take for your hormones to balance out, seek additional help.
Baby blues very normal it will pass
Baby blues, very normal and it’ll pass
