@Carla I don’t have a choice, it has to come out after baby is born because it’s causing so many other issues within my body 🙃
@Lan oh really? My dr doesn’t seem to care! My liver level test was showing on par with a alcoholic but yet still no idea where I am on the waiting list :( My consultant kindly told me what when baby is born it’s going to hit me harder as being pregnant alters your digestive system so can’t wait for that 😭👀 I’m forever in and out of A&E but I won’t let them administer pain meds so I don’t really know why I go other than to have my bloods taken :( x
@Carla I’m only allowed to take paracetamol and that doesn’t touch it, I’ve lost weight in pregnancy because I’ve been so ridiculously sick from it all. I’m quite lucky that they’re adamant I have to have it out within a few months of him being born, I have an amazing support system so I think I’ll manage. Luckily, my liver is okay, but I keep getting infections because of the gallstones, which I think is why they’re wanting to take it out, because obviously infection can cause issues for baby xx
I had my gallbladder removed two years ago. A little different as I wasn’t pregnant but all I can advise is make sure you have lots and lots of support with baby. It’s hard work having a newborn plus then having to have surgery after. I wasn’t able to get in and out of bed by myself after my surgery. But it completely changes your life once it’s removed. It will be worth it trust me 🙏🏻xx
I had to have my gallbladder removed at 30 weeks pregnant because I got severe pancreatitis from having several flare up… it went really well and no harm done to me and baby. It was a really worrying and stressful time but I’m also glad I had it done as no more flare ups whilst pregnant and thank goodness none as a newborn! I’m with you that pain medication didn’t touch the sides! Hope you’re okay xx
@Emma they thought I had pancreatitis, but I actually have cholecystitis 😅 I have been told labour is a breeze compared the to pain of gallstones! Xx
@Lan I did find gallstone worse to be honest (thought I was having a heart attack! 😂) I hope whatever treatment you end up having it goes well for you! It’s stressful but the pain going is soooo nice haha xx
@Emma I have a relatively high pain threshold usually. I have endometriosis so I’m used to horrendous cramps etc. this is a whole new level! Awful! Xx
This is crazy I literally had my gallbladder removed in late August and I feel so much better they said I had a gallstone the size of a golf ball. No wonder I was in so much pain. They said to me that since I’m in my second trimester (at the time) it’s the “best time” to do it because it posed little risk. I was so scared for my baby and me but it’s worth it. No more pain and my baby girl loves the extra room without sharing it with a golf ball 😂 don’t worry mama as long as you trust your doctors and yourself
I have been having the same. Constant attacks! I found egg & fizzy drinks to be a trigger for me. I seem to have one flare a month at the moment and I was almost in remission before getting pregnant
Hiya, I’ve had gallstones since August 2023 and just as I was about to have my gallbladder removed I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant. The pain is unbearable but they won’t take it out whilst pregnant (not that I would want them to anyway). I was hoping to have it out as soon as baby is born however my friend has just had hers out and she said there’s no way she could manage with a newborn and the pain/discomfort post surgery. She has 2 toddlers and finding it really hard x
