What age were your kids when you put them in daycare full time? Do you regret it?

Im feeling a little guilty about starting a full time job. My son just turned 2 and im a single mom, dad lives states away. My hours would be monday-Friday 8-5. I just graduated a few months ago and can make pretty good money in my field but I'm worried about giving up this time with my son. I live with my parents and it's getting pretty uncomfortable to be here.

Do what you need to do

I was lucky to wait until my daughter was 2 to put her into preschool. I'm a preschool teacher, so my experience is a little different because I work in the field and the school my daughter attends. Buy she's been there 1 year, and I don't regret it! She's learned way more than I could have asked for. Not all schools are created equal though. I prefer center-based to in-home and more traditional academics over montessori, for example. I also think daycares/schools that send photos of your kid throughout the day and/or have cameras will help you feel better.

9 months, and yes it was hard and still is, but she has learnt so much, loves nursery and is a social & confident. I work shifts so I still get days off in the week time with her

I put mine in with a childminder at 18 months and she does so well and loves it with her little group

Well, both kids started daycare part time at 11 months. Oldest never went full time, most was 4 days a week til school. Youngest went full time just before her 3rd birthday.

12 months - no regrets! I love my job and I am a better parent for it. My little girl is also far more social and confident than she was and her speech is incredible. So no regrets here!

My 2yo son loves daycare so much he asks to go on the weekend. He loves his friends so much.

Mine went in at 1 when my mat leave ended. She blossomed! Became much more confident, independent and sociable. I would do it again 100 times over. The variety of activities they do I can’t (or wouldn’t want to) match at home.

2 Year’s Old, No regrets.

My daughter has never been in daycare and I honestly regret not doing so. I WFH so my husband(mainly him) and I thought we could watch her without paying for daycare. Big mistake. If I have my way, she will be in daycare next year when she turns two and daycare is a liiittle cheaper. Do what you need to do as a parent. If putting your baby in daycare is what you need to do for the wellbeing of your family then do it.

My little guy went at 5 months when my leave ended. I needed to go back to work but felt a little guilty. Hes 2 now and loves day care because he can play with his friends!

3 months with my oldest - I'd just started my nurse training 7 months with my youngest - took maternity early due to ill health so went back slightly early (work 2 shifts a week so feel like I get loads of time with him) No regrets with either of them.
