Lost excess weight postpartum!

Hi mommies, I’m 5 months pp with my second one. Had gained about 6 kgs during pregnancy and now I am 5 kgs below my preg pregnancy weight. I’m taking postnatal vitamins and iron tabs. Diet is home food- rice lentils meat etc. junk is minimum. I eat sweets too. As per my height, I’m 3 kgs above my ideal weight even with the weight loss. Is this something to worry about? I know that it could be bcz I’m breastfeeding and it takes a lot of calories when feeding. But do I talk to my doc about this to know if it’s ok? Should I be worried? I don’t feel weak or anything. But I have literally never been this thin my entire life. After my first born I did have weight loss but not this extreme and it balanced out when I stopped breastfeeding him.

I had an emergency C-section and breastfeeding. I weighed 180 ish before pregnancy gained 20ish and was 201 i think. Lost over 25lbs and weighed less than what I did graduating highschool. My doctor didn’t seem concerned with my weight loss but it made me very insecure. I lost all my muscle and still feel weak. I wouldn’t be concerned unless your doc says something

@Emily thanks for replying 😊😊

It's probably the breastfeeding to be honest. Last time I weighed myself i had just stopped bf and I was about the same weight as I was before pregnancy but I had gained a good stone or two during pregnancy 😅 Breastfeeding is wonderful for weight loss

Side note - if you're worried, up your protein intake & speak to your Dr. Maybe snack every time you're breastfeeding too

@Laura Byrne yeah I get what you mean.

@Star makes sense. And sure will up my protein intake. Thanks for ur reply. 😊

I was thinnest after my second baby, I think it’s the burning of energy while watching a toddler and nursing. I wouldn’t worry about the weight personally. Just consider yourself lucky!

@Allie oh makes sense actually bcz I run around my older one a lot too and do a lot of house chores too.
