Going back to work..

I'm meant to go back to work as a casual 4 hrs a day X 3 times a week and I'm not sure this is achievable this is with a 10 week old. I wfh so I had planned to be able to work with baby. I refuse to put him into childcare at this age. I'm not sure what options or conversation I should have with my employer. Am I entitled to ask for flexible hours (make up 4 hrs around my baby's naps). I'm so conflicted.

Have you looked into centrelink parental pay and seen whether your work offers any maternity leave? In Australia atleast 9 months should be possible and paid if you can get both benefits. See how you go! Working with a 10 week old is possible but hard. You can always see how you go for a few weeks then decide?

@Alayne yeah I have it but I only took 8 weeks then I'm on Flexi leave as I don't work everyday. Just trying to make it work out what to approach them with. I've looked at fair work and I can request flexible work hours so I think I'll start with that.
