@Karishma I weaned off my breast at 15 months and had dad help to rock her to sleep instead but now this is a habit I’m trying to break out of!
Still breastfeeding and it works for us! We’ll find alternatives when we’re ready. But she does not nap whatsoever now, hasn’t since June really! Not even long car drives work
Mine will literally only fall asleep in the car now for a nap. At nursery thanks to witchcraft she just lies down and goes to sleep. I think when number 2 arrives I'll just stop trying to offer naps
In her cot with white noise & tonie box on just like bedtime
@Jolo do you lay her down awake? x
I lay with her/cuddle her until she does. I used the comfort/soothing ladder so she could have less support to do so.
Yes just give her a hug & kiss and lay her down. Luckily she’s always liked her cot. My first didn’t you had to lay with him and I promised myself I wouldn’t do that again so I persevered when she was a baby to get her self settling xx
@Natalie need to look at this method thank you x
@Jolo this is where I’m at now. Don’t want to have to go through this again with my second! How did you get your baby to learn to self settle? x
I used pick up put down around 4/5mths old. Started rocking less and less each time, putting down less asleep each time. By the end of a week she was going down tired but awake then I used pick up put down if she was upset. Now I always use the pick up put down if she’s upset. Also I never take her out the area of where she was sleeping (like another room) I definitely think we also have a good sleeper generally but I am so glad I persevered early on xx
Have you transitioned into toddler bed yet? My lb would only fall asleep breast feeding and then rocking but we transitioned to toddler bed, and went straight into getting him to climb in and lie down with his Teddy bear. We stay with him and sing some songs but he goes no bother. We did do lots of preparation to explain he was going into a big boy bed and he would climb in and lie down to go to sleep etc., just told him over and over like a story x
@Christy my LO actually transitioned into a toddler bed at 13 months! She loves it and also cuddles a Teddy but she won’t just lie down and go to sleep, she’ll refuse and just get up. She loves being rocked to sleep then put down
Plz don’t judge but I’m still breastfeeding & mine falls asleep feeding. I haven’t been able to break this habit. Any advice us welcome 🥰
