@Laura definitely something I may consider. I wouldn’t say it’s consuming me but I don’t want it to get to that point! I have a midwife appointment in a few weeks so I’ll speak to her then 🤍
Ive been going to acupuncture, which i've found really helpful to curb my anxiety and resets me 😊
I spend a lot of a therapist and what I can say is this….. Think of your anxiety as a little monster in your head, at the moment that monster is quite big, it’s causing havoc, mess, and irrational thoughts. You need to mentally, (sounds crazy but works) Imagine picking that monster up, giving it a little telling off and putting it in a cage. Every time you have a thought 💭 stop yourself before completing the thought and put the monster in his cage and get on with something else. The thought or feeling will come back and might come back immediately, pick him up put him in his cage. Soon you won’t be having those thoughts. Anxiety is very stressful, and can be debilitating and it can get worse after pregnancy. It takes mini seconds for a thought to be become a feeling to become an actual thing. I never had anxiety before falling pregnant with my first I did develop health anxiety after the baby was born. This time I’m so calm because I got the help I needed xx
Plus any questions feel free to message me and I’ll share what my therapist told me and trained me
@Charlotte thank you sooooo much! I know my anxiety is just my body and mind trying to protect me at the end of the day, it’s not reality it’s just thoughts xx
Give me a message girl I’m always up for a chat x
Have you thought about getting some professional mental health support? If your anxiety is bad and impacting you day-to-day, it could be worth exploring. You can self refer to talking therapies and you are prioritised on the waiting list as you are perinatal xx
