It says online that according to the NHS you can start from 32 weeks
@Emily no everything is perfect that's why i was confused
@Elisa that's what i thought but my midwife told me not to drink it
I’m intrigued to know why she said it’s not safe, did she say anything else about it? I probably would ignore her. At my hospital we don’t get one set midwife so some midwives are so old fashioned and set in their ways, maybe she’s one of them 😂
@Emily she just said that i can drink it past my due date if the baby is not born yet, and yes I'm thinking about ingoring what she said but i don't want something to go wrong or give birth too early because of it i just wanna drink it to make my birth a bit easier
The NHS website states not to have raspberry leaf tea before 32 weeks. Are you sure there wasn't just maybe miscommunication and the midwife was just reiterating you shouldn't have it right now (as in before 32 weeks)? Tommy's website has quite a bit of info on this, there's quite a few reasons why people can't have it (cesarean in previous 2 years / planning a cesarean / high blood pressure etc etc). I would caution anyone saying ignore your midwife, without knowing your full history 😊 https://www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/giving-birth/labour-and-birth-faqs/can-anything-bring-labour
I drank raspberry leaf tea with my last pregnancy and will be drinking it again this time. Start with one cup a day or so a day provided you don’t get major braxton hicks - which it can cause. It’s safe to drink if you don’t do it in excess! Do check the ingredients in the raspberry leaf tea brand you choose, some come with hibiscus mixed in which I believe isn’t advised during pregnancy :) This is the brand I used https://myrtleandmaude.com/collections/all/products/organic-raspberry-leaf-tea
@Flow yeah sorry don’t mean just fully ignore 🙈 Do your research first obviously 😂
@Flow yh she said i can't have it at all i asked multiple times to make sure
@Emily yes obviously I'll do more research and ask more midwives and gp for advice
That was a personal opinion from your midwife not a professional. You can drink it after 32weeks
@Selena it didn't sound like a opinion she told me specifically not to drink that so I'm not sure
Please consult with a doctor. I can’t trust midwife’s sometimes they have a whole different view of things sometimes
That’s strange! Are you high risk or anything? X
