Don’t you all think that water breaking is not so common anymore. It’s just intense contractions and going into labor and having water broken by the Dr if your water does not break 🙂

Waters break before labor 10% of the time.
Naturally, your water should break while your in transition or pushing.

Mine usually breaks while I'm pushing. My third was almost born en caul (which means in the bag!)

Mine broke when pushing, my friend had hers break at start of labour.
Part of the problem is media portrayal of birth always is dramatic with that water breaking. The Office with Pam, and Gavin & Stacey with Nessa are 2 different/more accurate portrayal of birth

My OB broke my water because I was induced. I didn't even feel anything come out.
yeah like back then yes but now it’s not as much. Because my mom and most people I know like over 20 years ago had their water broken too!
but if it doesn’t, they have to break it for you ain’t it ?

No they do not have to. They choose to.
oh wow really ?
that’s not bad then!

Yeah, but it could be because I was so focused on the pain.

With my first son mine broke on its own in the hospital I was already in labor and a couple of hours later I was pushing.
Def. I agree that can be the issue too!
so you got contractions first than it broke ?

Yes I had a long labor with my first son got to the hospital at 6amish and waters broke at 12am and he was born at 6:20am. I wasn’t induced with him either other than the pills in my cervix to help me dilate cause I was 16 back then and my body was struggling
omg girl 🥹 I’m so proud of you tho you did that!

First baby my water was broken at 41 weeks during my induction. Recently with second baby my water broke spontaneously at home
thank you for sharing 😊

Breaking your bag of waters can progress labour along quicker as there is less cushion between baby's head and your cervix which may cause it to thin out and dilate quicker. But it also can make it more painful. Baby can even be born in the bag... very rare but so cool! En caul it is called
very interesting!
