Being induced a lister hospital

Hi there! My baby girl is measuring very big, so they recommended an induction at 39 weeks. How does it work exactly? I have my last growth scan on Thursday, and I am happy to go ahead and book my induction for the 18th. Will I receive a letter with the time? Do I just go in myself? I need to organise myself as well as I have a toddler and need to fly the mother in law over from Italy so I am getting a little stressed. Any experience would help me so much xx

Normally they will ring you in the morning of the day of your induction and give you a time to come in, That’s what they did with me xx

You will usually be told they will call you anytime on that day to come in, when they do you bring your hospital bag and all of that and there is a little ward they put you on and they will do all the checks and then put a flat pessary into your vagina a bit like a flat tampon After a hour or so you should start to have contractions and then when you’re 4cm they will take you to a birthing suite 😊

With my first baby, My consultant at lister booked in the induction after my 36 week scan and so you have the date set. They will give you a call on the day when a bed becomes free on the induction ward. I called around 12pm to chase on the day and got a bed for around 3pm x
