Anti-D injections

Hi ladies, has anyone here had the anti-d injections in uhw? Just had my letter through and it says the appointment could take an hour and can't figure out why? I thought it'd be like a regular vaccine?

I had it like 30 min after giving birth, not in cardiff, but I think it should be the same in all uk hospitals?!

I had mine in UHW a couple of months ago. It was just like a vaccine and was in and out pretty quickly. I did query with the midwife why the letter says 1 hr and she said she didn’t know but it may be if they don’t defrost it before you arrive you could be there that long. I had a call from the hospital earlier in the day to double check I was coming and once I confirmed I was they started to defrost the anti-d so it was all ready for my appointment time.

I had mine about 3 weeks ago, I had my obs done and they checked my urine. After that I waited about 10 mins and was then called for the injection. So about half hour overall! It’s where you go for your 12 week scan so I suppose it depends how busy they are on the day but it was dead when I went there! X

I had mine done there. They do your obs first then you wait for your injection. Not going to lie, I was waiting a while. But the injection itself was over and done with very quickly xx

@Grace thanks, that's put my mind at ease then, for a second I thought maybe it's an infusion rather than injection n I had my wires crossed 💉😅 x

@Amy @Aleaha thanks girls!
