Can't relate, my mum hasn't seen my daughter since she was a week old 🙃
@Sophie does it not upset you that they prefer her over you? I’ve always dreamed of being their absolute rock just like my mum had with us but I feel my mum is jealous and is trying to have that now with my little one now her children are grown up
For some perspective I was really close to my grandparents as a child as they did a lot of babysitting for me, picked me up from school etc while my parents worked. I spent most weekends there and cried if I couldn’t go 😂 I still had a lovely relationship with my parents, love them dearly.. grandparents were just more fun 😂 Think of it as adding to your little ones life rather than taking from your relationship with your LO x
I think the more love the better but if it's annoying you then set boundaries. My family live further away so we see them a couple of times a month at most so I get that it's very different.
So my 11m old spend monday-wedneaday (daytime) with my parents while I'm at work and he acts sooooo well with them as soon as he's in the car with me to drive home he screamd and cries and doesn't wanna eat his dinner. He fine after but omfg it's nightmare hahahah I'm still happy he loves his I Time as his nish and pop pops house
Our 4 year old prefers his Nana over us🤣 and our daughter prefers my mum. Personally I love it! It’s nice to know that they’re such active figures in their lives and I also just remind myself we see them 24/7, even with grandparents seeing them 4 times a week it’s not all day x
