Silly question

I went to my local Department of Health and Human Services with his birth certificate and SSN, and they helped me navigate that.

My babies are on Tricare. They’re covered up to 90 or 120 days. As soon as you get the birth certificate and social they can be added to insurance.

@Cheyenne what do you mean by up to 90 and 120 days ? Like after that they are no longer on tricare?

Correct, they become Medicaid covered after that.

Same here, I get it. I say that to my 12 year old stepdaughter all the time. Today is the first day I'm doing today, how about you? What's your situation? Dependant, active, veteran, spouse of...? As a veteran, I had to apply for the birth certificate and was directed to do so by the hospital before i left. You'll have a temporary birth certificate in hand when you leave, but you'll need to apply for the actual one. Once you receive it in the mail, you can walk into your local Department of Health and Human Services, and they will put everything into the system for you. It may be called something different where you are. Between now and then, the bills that arrive from your pediatrician, don't worry about those so much. They're used to it taking a minute for the insurance to kick in. Enjoy your baby. Everything will work out. Just remember, "low stress is the best." And take deep breaths through your nose.
