Doula information!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has any experience with a doula or a postpartum doula? If so, what did you like or dislike about the experience? Also, how did you go about finding a doula? I keep seeing to ask other moms but do not know anyone who has worked with one before. Thanks!

I had a birth doula while I was pregnant. She was so helpful, she had resources to help me with getting ready for my babies arrival, and classes to learn more about newborn care, pregnancy ect. Things didn't go as planned and I had to have a c section and she was there the whole time. She also helped my partner through his anxieties during the birth, I know he really appreciated that. She was just loaded with knowledge and cared so much for our family. I still talk with her to this day. I can refer you to her if you'd like!?

LOVED my doula. she was with us for two births. midwest doula and we had ale falco!

@Sophia that would be great!

@Kate I will look into Midwest doula thank you!!

I cannot recommend a doula enough. Our LO had spun sunny side up during labor and I am confident we would have needed a c section if we hadn’t had a doula to help us do spinning baby exercises that worked to get baby back into position. We found our doula through Everyday Miracles (https://www.everyday-miracles.org/). It was nice to have a range of doulas with different price ranges you compare so we could choose one that fit our budget and our personalities.

@Amy thank you so much! I will check them out as well!

I'm in the process of finishing my postpartum doula training. Feel free to message me, and I'd be happy to answer any questions about it 😊💕

3 kids and a doula each time; I highly recommend having one! So supportive and helped SO much!

I didn't work with a doula, but I worked with a midwife program and loved it! They actually work with the HCMC hospital and clinics around the area, and there is always a midwife at the hospital and they have a doula at the hospital every shift if anyone needs her while giving birth, but they also have a website (I don't remember the site anymore) they can provide you to find a doula to work with you, and then when/ if you need to go to the hospital she is allowed to go in with you and stay as long as needed, and one there you don't even need to work with drs unless something comes up.
