My first epidural I experienced some pain in that spot afterwards for a few months when it was cold and before rain which was weird. I didn’t have any issues with second. If I have another baby I’m almost positive I’d do it again.

all the back pain i got with the epidural is way better than the contractions i felt at 9 cm when it wore off 😂

I had 2 and never had any issues 🤷🏼‍♀️

I got the epidural and never experienced the supposed back pain it causes afterwards 🤷🏽‍♀️

I never had a problem and hadn't heard anything until after I was done having kids 🤷🏼‍♀️

Loved my epidural! No real problems afterwards.

No problems here. Similar to inductions, I think people are more likely to speak on their bad experiences. It just everyday bias lol

The worst part of the epidural, is staying still while having contractions but as long as you have something to squeeze and slowly breathe, it's over in 5 minutes and it works so fast!

I have heard of complications of having an epidural so it does come with risks. However in my case, the pain I felt was so severe that nothing else was helping and the pain was preventing Labour from progressing. I was in Labour for 5 days and yet the contractions were so painful that my contractions would fall into a positive pattern only to fall out again shortly afterwards. By day 5 I was 5cm dilated only to fall down to 3cm a few hours later. If it weren’t for the epidural I would’ve been in Labour for a few more days (that’s if my husband didn’t demand a c-section first). My husband tells me that when they gave me the epidural, and the pain relief kicked in, I passed out for some time. Then my daughter’s vitals starting going down. So they quickly moved things forward and it didn’t take long before she was born. By the time my daughter came out she was so bruised and her head was noticeably misshapen from being in the canal for so long.

I had one and have never had any issues!

My brother has been in medicine & practicing medicine for over a decade. I was all natural really against epidural for myself. Anyone else I don't judge but needless I was gun ho on no epidural. I was 7CM dilated & they'd given me Tylenol/ medicine already minus epidural at this point. I broke down & called my brother in a sweating mess stuck on the toilet lol. The nurse was right with me trying to calm me down or get me at least back to my bed lol. My brother said "You are active right? You need to stretch, range of motion & slowly exercise & always work out the epidural. The pain if done repeatedly 2-3x daily should end within 3-4mo PP" He got this information from his own colleagues. I took the epidural almost 8CM & delivered sporadically 3 hours later. I have friends who didn't work the epidural out like I was told & they have nerve/ back issues. I'm completely unphased! So it worked for me & I'd do it again much sooner next time lol

The epidural pain was nothing compared to contractions.

Not when you’re having really bad contractions and don’t care about a needle in your back lol

@Syerra girl same!!! I was having back to back contractions and I didn’t care about the epidural. It was nothing compared to what my contractions were!!

@Kristen back contractions all the way!! So worth the epidural that shit hurt less then the iv I swear. The iv was probably the worst part cuz they put it in my hand felt it the whole time until I got my epidural. Labor pain is nothing compared to after birth in my experience tho the healing journey was definitely not painless

@Syerra yeah my epidural stopped two times. They had to redo it . Sucked so much. Did you have a vaginal birth?

@Kristen yes! I was in labor for 8 hours at the hospital. I had to get two epidural doses because they sat me up in a sitter position to get my water to break and it never did they had to go in a break it and the epidural went straight to my legs felt all the contractions. But that second dose did me in lol I had him at 2:49 am and I was still feeling the epidural a little but when I woke up at 8 that same morning. He was a 8.1lb baby so idk how I would’ve done it without drugs lol

@Syerra girl my son was also 8lb!

@Syerra I had a rough labor.

@Kristen same! I threw up the pain was unimaginable before the epidural. I also had him a week late. But so worth it obviously.

@Syerra hit me up girl message me and let’s exchange numbers

The epidural didn’t hurt that much and have to lasting side effects from it. It also didn’t work on my both times 😬

@Brianna I’m so sorry! Yeah it sucked

I have had one and it's not the worst or best thing. I loved the numbness with the contractions. Made them 10x easier especially since I was induced and they were much stronger then my natural labor with my 1st. So pain wise I loved it I could toss and turn but couldn't get out of bed. Tho I honestly wasn't walking much anyways due to the intense pain. I'm 13 months pp and I do have back pains. Some mornings my back locks up for a minute or two where I'm in pain and can't move but then it goes away. My last pregnancy kinda just caused back and hip pains so it's hard to judge. So honestly get it if you want it. I'm hoping with my 3rd I can have a water birth which means no meds but who knows. I guess we will have to see lol

If anything I’m stuck in the middle of good and bad, my heart rate was through the roof but my sons was dropping and when I got the epidural I had 3 contractions during it it just feels like a pinch didn’t hurt at all when it kicked in, my sons and I heart rate when back to normal and I felt better then ever once I had the baby the medicine wore off instantly and I felt everything and I was sooo sore I couldn’t walk it took me two full weeks to walk at a normal some what rate, I have scoliosis so back pain was always a thing I dealt with but I’m experiencing it a lot more cuz of the epidural but being active will strengthen your back muscle

Gurllllll I loved my epidural. I literally was asleep up until I had to start pushing. After giving birth my back hurt sooooooooo bad for 2 weeks but that was all. 46/10 recommend lol I personally plan to do it the same way with my next one but to each their own. Don’t be scared. Everyone is different

My epidural was fine! Whilst it was being put in you have to sit up and the contractions bothered me more. There was also one small area I could still feel that they gave me fentanyl to solve. Aside from that, I’d recommend it!

I suffered nerve damage from it. I had zero intention of getting it but was talked into. Definitely regret it. I didn’t get it because of pain I got it because I was told it would slow my contractions enough so my husband would make it in time
