As someone from North America, I also automatically want to pronounce it as "Oh-Lin." I feel like it needs to be spelled Ollin with two Ls to have it pronounced as "All-In."
Will probably be called olly
I like the name, but the spelling doesn't match the pronunciation, so I feel you will forever be correcting people. Perhaps Orlin?
I’m British and would also assume the Oh-lin pronunciation
I feel Orlin may be closer to the pronunciation you are after?
I’d say Ol-in and assume like Od-in. I wouldn’t assume it’s an A sound.
With a Scottish accent Orlin wouldn't work for the name we are after but interesting to hear everyone's take on it.
@Monica we like that 🙂 thanks
@Sarah I agree - I meant aw-lin originally but I do also like the Odin/Olin pronunciation as well. Thanks 👍🏼
All-In is a good pronunciation, I just like the words All In lol 😆 but on how to spell it I agree with @Kelli "Ollin" yeah you might have to correct people but why not start a new name trend and maybe overtime it will be common.
It’s cute! But I would say the phrase, “Olin, like Colin without the C” would be very common in your future.
Thanks Janicee and Paige. Fair points, I agree 👍🏼
I like it! But you might correct the pronunciation a lot if you’re in North America - my mind goes right to “Oh-Lin” and that’s also what google says phonetically
