Hello, I am doing the fast but not as intense, I am going to drink milk and water throughout the day so that I am not dehydrated, the advice is if you feel like you can do it or at a reduced rate then continue. I am 31 weeks also this week, babies due date is 17th December
I hope you don’t mind, but I love an opportunity to learn new things. What is Karva Chauth?
It's an annual hindu festival where we fast for a day to secure the long lives and good health of our partners and for happiness in marriage. We usually wake up before sunrise and feast with our mothers/mother in laws and other married members of the family like a sleepover and stop eating after sunrise until the moon/stars come out (depends on your family which you wait for). My husband is doing it but I think I probably won't do it strictly this weekend. I will eat fruit and drink water - so a milder version. Traditionally only women fast but in my family most of the men choose to do it in support too, my husband does it every year.
Thank you for taking the time to explain! The sentiment behind that is really beautiful, it’s also lovely that your male family members observe it too!
Hey - it’s advised against to do the fast if you are unwell or pregnant
