Thankyou so much that’s really reassuring 😩 I know they said that to me after I apologised for seeing them 3 days in a row😂 as soon as I’m put on the heart monitor he’s moving around like mad, They say keep an eye on his pattern but he honestly does not have one. Or if he does I can’t feel it, I just can’t wait till he’s big enough for me to check his activity and not loose sleep over it! X
I didn’t feel a thing until I was 25 weeks, it was so scary. I feel your pain, you feel like you’re wasting their time, mine was exactly the same, as soon as they put the Doppler on my stomach he would start to move! But they would still put me on the monitor to put my mind at rest. They would rather you were checked and monitored. Mine didn’t have a pattern either and it makes it so difficult. You won’t fully relax until you have your baby in your arms x
I had a lot of anxiety over this at around 28 weeks too. I found it very upsetting when friends or family would ask me excitedly if baby was kicking yet. Even though I know it's just one of those things people ask and they don't mean anything by it. I also deleted a couple of baby apps that started sending me notifications about kick counts and monitoring because they were causing me more stress. I also had a private scan at one point when my anxiety was really bad, just to see baby and convince myself that he was fine, and have them explain to me how his change in position was making me feel less. For some reason seeing it made it make a lot more sense to me. Eventually I basically told myself not to compare myself to other people and found a way to trust my body to do what it needed to do and make peace with it. I'm now 34 weeks and Baby has moved again and whilst I still don't feel strong kicks very often, I do feel lots of wriggles and hiccups, and I can see the movements on my belly.
Also don't forget that you're in the 3rd trimester now, so your hormones will be ramping up again! You may find yourself worrying more and feeling very protective of baby, and your feelings aren't always something you can control. You're not going insane, you're just dealing with very powerful emotions and mothering instincts!! It sounds like you're doing a great job of caring for your baby and checking in with the midwives when needed so try to be nice to yourself!! Positive affirmations and relaxation techniques can help with this too!
I was the same, sometimes they struggled to find his heartbeat as he would be an awkward position. Honestly I felt so stressed pretty much the entire pregnancy. Try watching your stomach, sometimes you can see the movement but you can’t feel it, just lie down and relax and watch. They honestly don’t care how much you go up to MAU, you could go up every day, if you’re not happy just call them and go, they will happily see you. Once you get to about 37 weeks, it’s a lot easier to feel movement because there’s not much room in there at that point x
