New to Dudley

Hello So I’ve recently moved from Birmingham to Dudley, a whole new place for me. Just wondering what’s the best gp around here, based on your experience or reviews you heard. You can even share the gp you go to. And I’m looking mainly for friendly staff, efficient service and great doctors ofc. Also, what are some good hospitals around, heard that russels hospitals rating is very low.

Personally Castle Meadows is really good! I definitely wouldn’t go to russles hall, Sandwell was good!

St james medical practise is shit, rude reception staff & can never get an appointment, i switched to stepping stones & their absolutely brilliant! They’ll call u 2/3 days before ur appointment just to remind you that u have one, they have a call back system so at 8am u don’t have to wait in a queue, loads of great dr’s x

I'm with coseley medical centre and I seriously can't fault it , same day appointment even if you ring mid day , friendly staff and Dr's actually listen to you x

Woodsetton is fucking shocking tho I'd go as far to say they're neglectful x

Russles hall is diabolical , I've gone to New Cross in Wolverhampton this time round and I can't fault them 🫶

That's interesting. I've had a great experience with both woodsetton and Russell hall hospital. Woodsetton I've always been able to get an app straight away, super friendly, midwife was fantastic, GP on 2 occasions referred my baby ASAP Russell hall - midwives amazing cannot fault them, doctors and the A&e.... hit and miss. Sometimes they are amazing and quick, others time you can be waiting for 11hours. I've found woodcross and parkfield to be horrendous! Avoid like the plaque.

@Emma they left me with a water infection that developed into a kidney infection so bad I ended up in hospital because they flat our refused to give me antibiotics 🥹 and russless hall was just neglectful with me with my last pregnancy when I had GD I had next to no support or help , forced me into induction and refused my elective section because of my age ((I was 21)) saying I was too young to know what I was talking about , multiple consultants said that to me

@Emma woodsetton also refused to help my daughter when she was 2 months old and having solid adult looking poos and was pooping less than once a week it took till she was 5 months old to get lactolose and countless hospital trips 🥹 Can't fault Dr Reid tho he was a saint

@Jess that is horrible, I’m so sorry that happened to you. Hearing stories like that is what makes me scared. Especially when someone ends up losing their life, it’s all because doctors choose to neglect you or don’t take you seriously. Thanks for sharing.

@Jess honestly I wouldn’t trust russles hall with my left toe, I have KNOWN mad documented cardiac conditions, I went to their A&E with a suspected heart attack, was left slumped in a chair for HOURS, no one came to see me, in the end my mentality was “if I’m dying, I’m dying at home” (don’t do that, I was desperate), in the end it took me MONTHS to recover from whatever it was, my cardiologist and doctor suspected heart attack but could never prove it as A&E didn’t do bloods or ECG

@Amy honestly the place is shocking I'm so sorry that happened to you x
