Our son made it to a few months before Christmas last year (13.5). He wanted to help make it special for our daughter (10). She ended up finding out on new years eve. It hit her harder that the elf wasn't alive. But then she got excited that she could hold him finally. She came back a few minutes later and said tooth fairy...easter bunny...? Since they both know we are going to try making some new traditions.
I actually didn’t allow her to believe in it past 6 years old. I said the magic comes from me and I’m the on responsible. I told her not all parents expose this truth to their children so keep it to yourself and let other children believe what they want to believe. That actually went very well for us.
I’m in the same boat my daughter will be twelve at the end of the yr and she still believes in all that stuff. I’m trying to hold on to her innocence because kids these days 😒. She still likes playing with dolls too. I was going to ask my husband what he thinks. I hope someone gives some good suggestions. I will definitely keep checking back.
