Pretty sure Lozenges are fine. I'm not sure on nasal sprays though!
@Leanne ah thank you will have a look see if I can find it š
@Annie yeah I wasn't sure on nasal sprays. Will try some lozenges though thank you š
There are some natural sprays youāre allowed. You can also have throat sweets but Iām sure itās only certain ones. As long as they only contain certain things. If you Google it, itāll show you what ingredients it can have x
Echinacea is my go too.. works every time
I had covid during my last pregnancy and was always coming down with a cold - doctors and midwives said all I could take was paracetamol and keep hydrated. They also said to take a bowl of bowling water up to bed with me each night to help breathe through my nose a bit easier
Boots dual defence nasal spray is safe in preg/BF and as a bonus is it also acts as a protectant if youāve been around someone with a cold to help stop you getting one! So itās always good to have around the house for future. Otherwise, saline spray is fine to use, or try putting your face over a bowl of boiling water (at a safe distance) and inhaling the steam. As for lozenges, you can have them if they do not have any active ingredients. So if theyāre just honey or glycerine with menthol, theyāre fine to use. I believe benzocaine doesnāt enter the bloodstream so you can use ones with that in, but thatās it! So just check the label for ingredients. Hot drinks also help to loosen up mucous and soothe your throat - I just had ginger tea with lemon and plenty of honey. You can also have ice lollies to numb your throat if you find this works better than having honey in tea. Paracetamol is the only tablet/medication you can take afaik which is rubbish, but hopefully helps a little stillš¤š»š«¶š»
Someone recently recommended a nasal spray on hereā¦ maybe scroll through and find it. Was something beginning with S, sorry I canāt remember. I had a cold recently I had hot lemon and ginger and lozenges alongside paracetamol. Good luck and feel better!
