Anyone have a planned induction date?

I'm 39+4 today. Had a membrane sweep and OB told me doesn't look like labour for me anytime soon 😞 I have a planned induction for Nov 2nd but really hoping I can get him out before then!! Any tips to get things moving?? First baby was born at 38+3 so this is all new territory for me 😅

Exact same here, down to the dates lol. Though my sweep was unsuccessful as the midwife said the cervix still felt closed 😭 that was yesterday. Let's see... Trying all the techniques! Raspberry leaf tea, curb walking, dates, prostaglandins...

I am 40+4 today and went to go do a membrane sweep but my cervix is closed so they couldn't do it.. have an induction scheduled for next week but I really hope it doesn't have to come to that!!

Eat dates to soften the cervix

I tried every old wives tales rasberry Leaf tea, dates, pineapple to soften the cervix, sex, curb walked starting at 37 weeks and nothing worked for me to put me into natural labour. I ended up getting induced with the gel twice 8 hours apart which helped get me to 3cm dilated so they could break my water.

Have you tried moving around on a birthing ball (drawing circles with your hips, doing pelvic tilts back and forth, etc)? That's supposed to help. However, don't be hard on yourself if you don't go into labor on your own - sometimes that's just how it is.

Went for a walk today and lost my mucus plug 🎉 but no contractions

@Jessica hang in there...you're progressing more than me 😂 I'm really hoping I don't have to get induced...

@Gunjan same here!! I need this baby out to get some relief 💆‍♀️

Europeans carry babies longer term than anyone else. Carrying to 42 weeks is considered full term in Germany and they don't induce before then. I'm 40+3 and in no rush. My last one was born on midnight at 42 weeks.

@Jessica anything?? 😭

@Sarah May neat! I guess the culture around it is different in different parts. For a number of reasons beyond standard term length here in Canada, I really need this baby out 😅

@Gunjan I wanted mine born before 42 weeks cuz my midwife isn't allowed to attend home birth after that date (also in Canada BC). I was suggested hibiscus tea by my Chinese friend. I only took it once and didn't go into labour. Was trying to have my last baby on my birthday.

@Gunjan nope!! Had another sweep today and my OB said I'm a tight 2cms now. Maybe had some contractions for about an hour then suddenly stopped. What about you?

@Jessica another attempt at a sweep and still closed 🫠 they're insisting on moving the induction to Tuesday to give my body more time to be ready

@Gunjan if it's your first I 100% agree with that. Sometimes it just takes your body a little bit longer. Because this is my second my OB told me the cervix never really fully closes again after giving birth. Going to try to do everything I can to get to 3 cm before going to the hospital on Saturday so that they can just break my water instead of using other methods to try to dilate me

Yeah it is my first @Jessica we're gonna go ahead with the delay. What kinda things are you doing to try to get it dilated more?

@Gunjan just walking and stretches/bouncing on yoga ball

My baby came. Was 3am Oct 30th contractions started and 10:30 pm she was born. (40 weeks +6days).

Congratulations @Sarah May !!
