Second with second anterior im 20 +4 and I felt little flutters before but the past 2 days I've felt a lot of the kicks and things, which my first I didn't feel them this quickly I was round 22/23 weeks when I felt the kicks like this, it's frustrating I know but you will get that feeling, try a sugary drink and laying flat, it's what I started doing when I thought I felt flutters as I wasn't sure like yourself if it was just random things my body is doing or baby and it helped me determine which it was x
I had an anterior placenta with my little boy, didn’t feel anything till 23 weeks and movements didn’t get regular till about 26ish weeks! And there was still some days I barely felt him because of the position he was in xx
@Millie ah that's reassuring thank you! Not until next week so that will be helpful. Its so difficult as you want to start recognising patterns 🙈 xx
@Darcey oh really, that's a good tip thank you:,) it's just hard to know the signs of movement or if it's just my body doing different things 🤣 I'll be more reassured once there are kicks haha x
This is reassuring to read! I don’t know where my placenta is (how does everybody know?! My MW said they don’t tell you until the 20 week scan!) I felt my first at 20 weeks and sort of hoped/assumed it would be earlier this time. 19+1 and nothing! I’m feeling anxious as the sickness as gone and most days I don’t even ‘feel’ pregnant (just tired…) Scan is another 12 days away and it feels like an AGE. I’m desperate to feel baby and know all is ok!
I’m almost 23 weeks with anterior placenta, when I went for my 20 week scan I was only feeling very occasional little bubbles so was panicking. But this week I have started feeling more taps and a weird flipping feeling that feels like he’s moving around. My midwife told me to concentrate on anything you can feel low down and at the sides as this is where you’re more likely to feel if you have AP.
I had my 20 week scan today and asked about movements as I’ve not really felt any either. Maybe the odd fluttery sensation but hard to tell. The Sonographer said I had an anterior placenta and it’s likely the movements won’t happen for a couple more weeks which is reassuring. Sounds similar for you
Hey ladies, I’m 21+2 with an anterior placenta and I’ve been feeling little pops over the last couple of days, mainly in the evening. It’s been the slightest feeling, try not to worry🤍
Hey, I have an anterior placenta as well and totally relate to the muscle spasms. That's how it started off with me. Almost like an eye twitch! Once I realised what I was looking out for, I started feeling more within two-ish weeks
I saw someone else leave this advice, but definitely try lying on your back and drinking some fruit juice. I can go a whole day sitting at my desk and feel nothing but get little pokes the minute I lay down
I'm 20+5 with an anterior placenta. I've been feeling him move for about 2 weeks now and seems days ill feel swishes and rolling sensations, some days little taps and some days absolutely nothing. It's completely normal, because your placenta is at the front it acts like a cushion and because baby isn't as strong yet the placenta will absorb the movements. Some people with anterior placenta's don't feel baby until 24 weeks ( this is when they have regular movements and you learn babies pattern ) I wouldn't worry about it, I've done alot of research and spoke to many people about it so if you ever want to drop me a message feel free too x
I’m 20+1 and also have an anterior placenta. This is my second pregnancy but I had a posterior placenta with my daughter so this is a whole new experience for me. My daughter’s movements were very different at this point. There are some days I feel movement and other days I don’t feel anything at all. But I understand the placenta is like a pillow and absorbing it especially that baby is still quite small and not as strong yet. I discussed this with my midwife yesterday and she reassured me it’s completely normal at this stage but stated that from 24 weeks this is when baby should be able to be felt regularly and movements should be monitored. Due to the placement of the placenta movements will likely to be felt at the sides, low down or by your ribs. Obviously any concerns talk to triage straight away xxx
Hey, I also have an anterior placenta. I saw my midwife today and she said it totally normal to not feel anything until about 23 weeks. The bubbling feeling could possibly be little wiggles from your little one. I wouldn't worry too much. Have you had your 20 week scan yet?? Xx
