@Megan yeah I think I may just be feeling stressed and I already suffer with anxiety. They said the ECG was ok but let's see how the 24hr monitor goes. I had a echogram in June for suspected blood clots in the lungs which all turned out fine. I think I'm just overthinking because it's my heart but your reassurance has helped to know if it was ectopic beats then I won't die! And baby will be ok lol
Yeah I’ve been getting them multiple times a day. Mine feels like my heart stops and misses a beat and then a massive thud and then my heart beats faster for a few seconds. I can be there relaxing in the sofa and it just does it randomly
Yes I seem to notice it more when I've sat down like walking around I don't notice it so much its so strange! Have you had it for a while?
Yeah I do just never told the doctor.
Yes I get it. Only when I’m laid down it’s like a fluttering and I feel a little breathless. I told the midwife but she just said it’s really common it’s because of the increase in blood. I felt fobbed off so I’ve just been keeping an eye on my heart rate with my fit bit and taking my own blood pressure x
Yeah when I was pregnant the first time I had to get an ECG, 48 hour trace and a full heart scan because I was having palps/ thudding / skipping. Mainly when I’m laying down but they can happen any time tbh. I started noticing them again this pregnancy around 22 weeks - your heart works extra hard when you’re pregnant especially towards the end. I was diagnosed with ectopic beats and offered medication but was told it wasn’t dangerous and wouldn’t kill me basically so didn’t take them as they were only to make me more “comfortable”. Think it was beta blockers - I don’t even like taking paracetamol when pregnant 😭🤣 so I didn’t and I was fine just don’t over exert yourself more than usual and rest when you can. Chances are it is jsut pregnancy related, my heart goes pretty much back to normal when not pregnant. Still have some thudding etc but pregnancy definitely exacerbates it! Especially around 2nd trimester onwards!
