Swollen hands - advice

The last 2 weeks I’ve noticed my hands feeling really tight / pressure in the night, but the last 2 days it’s all day / all night. I did mention it to my midwife last week and she said to call triage if it gets any worse. I’ve called triage today who told me it sounds normal, I mentioned pre eclampsia and she said to stop googling. I’m not really happy with the advice given, I’ve spoke to the Gp and am waiting for them to call me back to see if they will take a look/check my blood pressure. Anyone have any advice? Shall I just go up triage anyway, or will they send me away as they said not to bother

I have similar and my midwife mentioned it’s likely Carpel Tunnel which is common in late pregnancy since I had no other pre eclampsia symptoms. But if you’re worried, go to triage, better to be told to go home it’s nothing than ignore something that’s worrying you

I reiterate what Sophie has said. I mentioned to my midwife a few weeks ago, and she mentioned Carple Tunnel. Mine has progressively got worse, waking me up/keeping me up at night and day to day tasks are proving very difficult. I'm just taking paracetamol for the pain, and have been advised to invest in wrist supports. Then do hot/cold compress on the wrists to help with the discomfort. It should start to subside after birth is what I've been told.

In my last pregnancy I had to actually kind of peel my hands open in the mornings they’d be so stiff and tight! It was just carpel tunnel I think.

As long as your midwife checks your blood pressure at every appointment then its like to be fluid retention causing carpal tunnel. Ove had it since 27 weeks, got progressively worse and really uncomfortable now. No real advice other than what others have recommended sorry! X
